PPG Special Effects
This course is designed for custom paint enthusiasts and paint technicians. You will learn all the necessary technical information to properly apply PPG’s line of “special effect” finishes.
I-Car Approved: 3.25 Points / PPG Certification 21 / PPG10
Who Should Attend: Technicians applying 3-coat systems on a regular basis. Body shops doing or looking looking to get into custom special effect painting.
Course Objective: To acquaint technicians with the proper procedures, products, and processes needed to apply “candy apple” type finishes using PPG Radiance. Learn how to apply PPG Prizmatique finishes

- Radiance II Candy Dye Correct Application Techniques
- Prizmatique Application Techniques
- Final sanding & cleaning steps prior to application
- Marbalising techniques
- Using all preparation materials efficiently
- Designing and applying unique PPG Special Effect Colours
- Applying PPG Clearcoats over PPG Special Effect Colours
Course Cost: $100+gst - Costs will cover material used and food provided
Note: Students will receive a Certificate of Completion. Lunch and refreshments will also be provided. Students will be required to bring safety boots, spray overalls and if possible air-fed masks.
