Bringing innovation to the surface

Innovation is one of the fundamental factors behind PPG’s success. A substantial annual investment in research and development activities gives our scientists, engineers and researchers the freedom to apply their knowledge, expertise and innovative spirit to developing technically superior products and improved manufacturing processes which help create a better world. Indeed, over its rich history, PPG has been responsible for a long list of market-altering, breakthrough innovations. PPG will never stop innovating and is committed to continuing to develop products and technologies that not only meet the ever changing demands of customers but also the sustainability requirements of society and the environment.

PPG Australia / New Zealand

PPG began its drive for local market leadership in August 1998 when it acquired Orica Ltd’s automotive refinish and industrial business – including ICI Autocolor and the Dulux brand. The acquisition not only saw PPG take a leadership role in the Australian and New Zealand refinish markets, it also provided an excellent springboard to accelerate the company’s automotive and industrial coatings expansion in the Asia-Pacific region. While operating on a global scale, in more than 60 countries, PPG also chooses to manufacture locally. The company’s worldwide network of 120 production facilities incorporates local sites, including Clayton (Victoria), and Villawood (NSW).
